BISBEE — The Bisbee Community Tennis Association is offering a free summer tennis clinic for children in the area.
The clinics will be held Tuesday through Thursday this week and June 18 to 20 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Children ages 5 to 11 are welcome to attend no matter their skill level.
“The idea is to expose them to the sport and if they enjoy it then hopefully they continue to play,” said David Powell, one of the clinic organizers. “The main goals is for the kids to have fun and learn the fundamentals of tennis.”
Kid-sized rackets will be available as well as special balls with less of a bounce and smaller nets. All participants should wear sneakers and bring sunscreen, a hat and water.
“They will learn the fundamentals of tennis, but having fun with games and drills,” Powell said.
The clinic will be held at the tennis courts at Vista Park on Hoatson Avenue in Bisbee. To register or for more information, contact the association at firstname.lastname@example.org
