Bisbee volleyball snaps two-game skid

BISBEE — The Bisbee Pumas snapped a two-game skid, beating the Tucson St. Augustine Catholic Wolves in four sets Wednesday night in the BHS gymnasium.

Bisbee won the first two sets 25-17, 26-24. The Pumas lost the third set 22-25 but came back to win the fourth, 25-18, for a 3-1 victory.

According to Pumas coach Joni Giacomino, Gabby Lopez had 16 kills; Valerie Wright 13 assists and five kills; Lexi Lopez, four kills and good service receive; Tubby Martinez played awesome defense as a libero; and Celli Noriega and Vianney Hidalgo were outstanding with their serves.

Giacomino said her junior varsity also won.

Bisbee, 1-2, returns to the court on Thursday, Sept. 18, hosting the Kearney Ray Bearcats in a 6 p.m. match.
