SIERRA VISTA — The Sierra Vista Community Tennis Association held the last of three junior tennis tournaments Saturday at the City’s Kings Court tennis facility. There were 25 enthusiastic juniors from throughout Cochise County who played their hearts out during the four-hour event.
Great job, juniors, as well as volunteers and parents! In the end, all three divisions and the overall player had to be determined by tiebreakers — very close competition! Sam Yang won overall highest points from the three tournaments.
In the gold division, John Yang took first, with his brother, Sam, taking second.
Bobby Phillips took first in silver, while August Anderson took second.
First place in the bronze division went to Michael Conroy, as Rachel Bonilla won second.
All of the juniors worked hard and should be commended for their efforts.
