Cochise County had six of its track and field athletes win state championships at their respective state meets this past weekend in Mesa.
In the Division IV state meet, Benson senior Riann Cluff won the pole vault with a vault of 10'6". Her teammate, senior Landen Vance won the discus with a throw of 137'.
Tombstone junior Malachi Keller won the high jump at 6'4".
St. David senior Koy Richardson won the boys javelin with a throw of 160' and Willcox senior Maylee Thompson, last year's Cochise County Best of Preps Athlete of the Year won two state titles this past weekend the first being in the girls javelin where she recorded a throw of 117'9", her second coming in 200-meters where she recorded a state championship winning time of 26.42.
