SAINT DAVID — The St. David Tigers football team may have stayed perfect on the season with their 59-12 win over Duncan Friday night, but their coach says there is still work to be done.

The St. David Tigers volleyball team competed in their first home contest of the season on Thursday against the Duncan Wildkats.
Those in the San Pedro Valley fared well Friday night. Benson defended their hope field with a victory over Miami while St. David shutout Valley Union in Elfrida.

ELFRIDA — Playing their fifth straight volleyball match on the road, the defending 1A state champion St. David Tigers overcame a slow start and battled back from an opening game loss to defeat the Valley Union Blue Devils 3-1 in a non-conference match Thursday.

WILLCOX — The Cowboy and Cowgirl cross-country teams held their annual invitational Wednesday, which welcomed seven other schools to Willcox.
TOMBSTONE — Yellow Jacket volleyball coach Dan Romero knew his team’s season opener against St. David was going to be a test for his young team. At the end of their test, which was a 3-0 loss to the Tigers, Romero was excited about his team and the possibilities they have this season.
BENSON — The Bobcats hosted the second cross-country meet in the county on Friday, with Tombstone, Safford, St. David and Willcox participating.
ST. DAVID — Achieving their number one goal for the season is of top priority to the St. David Tigers’ volleyball team and their coach Tylene Miller.
TOMBSTONE — The Yellow Jackets hosted the first cross country meet of the season last Friday. Five Cochise County schools were represented at the meet.
ST. DAVID — The Tigers are back on course – the cross country course that is. St. David started their official 2020 season on Aug. 24.
