High Lonesome Vineyard in McNeal, owner by Thomas & Edie Gustason, recently took home several awards for its various wines.

High Lonesome Vineyard in McNeal was awarded Best in Class for their 2017 Tannat and earned Bronze for their 2018 Picpoul Blanc during the AZCentral Grand Wine Competition, held at Kierland Commons in Scottsdale in November. The Grand Wine Awards, known as the “Academy Awards” of Arizona wines, recognizes the winners from the 2019 AZCentral Grand Wine Competition.

Additionally, owners Thomas & Edie Gustason, took silver medals for both vintages, 2017 Tannat and 2018 PicPoul Blanc, in the National Jefferson Cup Invitational. The Jefferson Cup Invitational, now in its 12th year, honors the best of the best among wineries from all of America’s wine regions. The ultimate recognition came from the Beverage Tasting Institute in May for their 2017 Malbec. During the 2019 World Wine Championships Competition, High Lonesome Vineyard’s 2017 Malbec received a gold medal and an Exceptional Rating.
