The Raspberry Fire in the Coronado National Forest.

The Coronado National Forest has responded to a fire that is approximately 500 acres and growing. The Raspberry Fire was reported on June 14 at 11:52 a.m. in the Chiricahua Wilderness, Douglas Ranger District. Under the leadership of Type 4 Incident Commander Lincoln Dziuk, ground crews, two engines, a repelling crew and air attack has been working together to construct a fire line and halt forward progress of the blaze. Full suppression efforts are in place. The fire is threatening the Monte Vista Lookout and a repeater tower, but prep work has already begun to protect these areas.

Visitors are asked to please avoid Morse Canyon Trail No. 43, Bear Canyon Trail No. 228,

North Fork of Rucker Trail No. 221, and Pole Bridge Trail No. 264.

Proceed no further than Chiricahua Peak on the Crest Trail No. 270.
