Love Peace & Smoked Cheese

Love Peace and Smoked Cheese

We’ve all heard of mouth watering smoked ribs, fish, sausage, and other meats, but how about smoked cheese? For Marana resident Mickey Jones smoked cheese started out as a fun hobby that has turned the former Raytheon employee into an entrepreneur. Mickey has been selling his smoked cheeses at Arizona farmers markets and wine festivals for several years and this Thursday we are pleased to have Mickey joining the Sierra Vista Farmers Markets to share with us his sought after cheese.

Mickey will be bringing to the market a variety of cold smoked cheeses including, hatch green chile, white cheddar, gouda, two kinds of havarti, cheddar, and many more. Mickey enjoys meeting new people and talking about his unique craft, so stop by Mickey’s booth and ask him about his tasty cheeses.

Artisan Thursday

It is the first Thursday of the month again this week and that means we’ll be inviting additional artisans to our Thursday market. This week you’ll find all sorts of hand-made and crafted works of art. From paintings, leather work, and cutting boards, to unique hand-made lighting fixtures, tables, and chairs for your home.

$200 Like and Comment Facebook Contest

Artisan Thursday also means we’ll be having our monthly $100 Farmers Market Tokens giveaway. Since no one claimed their prize last week, this week’s prize has grown to $200 Farmers Market Tokens. Our unique wooden tokens can be spent at any of the fine vendors of the Sierra Vista Farmers Markets. So if you are looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, buy some healthy fruits, or vegetables, or just purchase a unique piece of art for your home, be sure to enter this week’s contest for your chance to win. Entry is free and easy. Just visit our Sierra Vista Farmers Market Facebook page and like our contest page and tell us one thing you like about living in beautiful Sierra Vista Arizona. That’s it. Then on Thursday at noon at the market we will randomly draw a name from those of you who entered the contest. Remember, you have to claim your prize in person at the market the day of the drawing.

This Week at the Market

At the market this week you’ll find a great variety of fresh lettuce, kale, salad mix, beets, carrots, radishes, broccoli, garlic, and onions. Our meat vendors will also provide pork, beef, and lamb. There will also be all sorts of cakes, pastries, and candy.
