DOUGLAS — The city of Douglas Christmas Light Parade and tree lighting ceremony will take place Saturday.

The annual tree lighting ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. at the 10th Street Park and is being dedicated to the Douglas community honoring its resiliency through a difficult year.

The parade will follow at 7 p.m. along the traditional G Avenue route.

The theme for this year’s Christmas parade is “A Magical Surprise.”

“The Christmas season in Douglas is so special for our community and it is so important to keep our traditions going to celebrate this special time of year,” Mayor Donald Huish said. “We hope to have the community out for this event and make it special as always.”

Free hot chocolate and cookies will be available at The Douglas Williams House.

Face coverings and social distancing are recommended.
