One of the major items on tonight’s city council agenda will be the discussion and decision of approval of Resolution No. 14-993, the authorization of a non-exclusive license agreement between the city of Douglas and the Pecos League to use the city owned Copper King Baseball stadium.

The first home game is tentatively scheduled for May 14 at 7 p.m. against the Bisbee Blue.

The last few weeks of December the Douglas Dispatch conducted an online poll inquiring which name would best fit or identify Douglas. The poll results showed in favor to the Douglas Diablos.

Other items on the agenda will be the discussion/decision to establish the Douglas Youth City Council and the acknowledgement of the comprehensive annual financial report for fiscal year 2013.

The approval of the second reading of Ordinance No. 13-1030, a lease agreement with the option to purchase property located at 919 3rd Street by the Center for Academic Success will also be discussed at the meeting.

Resolution 14-992, a license agreement between the city of Douglas and Caring Connections for Special Needs LLC., to use office space located at 1815 9th Street is included in the agenda.

Tonight’s meeting is open to the public and will begin at 6 p.m. at City Hall in the council’s chamber.
