Frederick (Fred) L. Hallsted, 84
BISBEE—On May 26, 2019, at approximately 4 a.m.; Federick (Fred) L. Hallstead passed from this life to the spiritual realm. Fred was born in Bisbee on April 2nd, 1935 and was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence H. Hallsted and Matilda B. (Wasser) Hallsted; as well as his wife, Joyce (Dodds) Hallsted. He lived out his life in Bisbee, except serving in the US Army and finishing his career at Phelps Dodge in Ajo; having been transferred in 1977-1983. After Ajo, he returned with his wife to Bisbee and worked at Douglas prison for ten years.
Fred was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sheila, and all his siblings: Jim, Charles, Mary, Rosalie, and Dorothy. He is survived by his children, Letricia (Jamie) Jauregui, Clay (Linda) Hallsted, and James (Tammie) Hallsted; sisters-in-law, Sue (Andis) Hallsted and Stella (Pavlovich) Hallsted; grandchildren, Maria, Daniel, Chris, Cara, Tori, and Eric; seven great-grandkids; and, not to mention, 37 nieces and nephews.
Fred graduated Bisbee High in 1954 and served two years in the Army having been stationed in Oxford, England, where he met and married his wife.
There will be a memorial service at the Serbian Hall, 216 Park Ave., Bisbee, Arizona on June 8th, 2019 at 1 p.m.. A mass will be held at a later date.
