TUCSON—Mary Louise Tank, 85, was born in Woodville, Ohio on August 17th 1937 to Julius W. and Louise H. Niedermeier. She attended Solomon Lutheran Church and School, and graduated from Woodville High School in 1955.
She intended to enroll at Bowling Green State University, however Herbert R. Tank had other plans, and they were married in 1956. They lived in Woodville until 1964, when they moved to Winchester, Kentucky, and then moved to Sierra Vista, Arizona, in 1973.
She was an active participant in the Ft. Huachuca Officers and Civilians Wives Club and enjoyed the numerous social events. Mary was a lifelong member of Sierra Lutheran and active in the Altar Guild. She was employed by the Sierra Vista Public Schools where she mentored and supported numerous children with special needs.
She and Herb loved traveling to visit friends and family in Ohio and throughout the United States. She was an avid bridge player and her bright blue eyes lit up as she smiled every time she met someone new and when she was with her numerous friends.
Mary considered Sierra Vista, Arizona home for the past 50 years and moved to Tucson in 2017 to be closer to her family. She passed with the loving care of Casa De La Luz hospice in the presence of her family on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
She is survived by her Son Matthew (Cindy), Daughter Marsha (Lesley), grandchildren Reghan (Garrett) Hedrick and Adam (Kelsey) Tank, great-grandchildren David and Briar, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Her interment will be at Sierra Vista Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at a later date to be at eternal rest with her loving husband of 48 years, Herb. Welcome donations to Sierra Lutheran Church Sierra Vista, Arizona or Solomon Lutheran Church and School Woodville, Ohio
